My 13-year-old daughter had her phone out, showing me the latest TikTok find. "Everyone's using this one, Mom." I picked up the bottle. Flipped it over. Started reading ingredients I couldn't pronounce. She wanted what was trending. I wanted to know if it was safe.
We were both asking different questions about the same product.
That night, I found myself googling at 11pm again. "Is retinol safe for teens?" "What does niacinamide actually do?" "Should a 13-year-old be using this?" The internet had opinions. Lots of them. But it couldn't give me any straight answers.
So we started asking around. Her volleyball team. Other parents. Friends who actually knew about ingredients. Turns out, we weren't the only ones confused. Every parent was trying to decode ingredient lists. Every teen was trying to figure out what actually worked. And nobody was talking to each other about it.
This got us thinking… what if there was a place where both perspectives mattered? Where teens could find what's actually worth the hype and parents could sleep at night knowing it's been vetted by people who actually know this stuff.
So we built it.
